I’m trying to gain between five and seven pounds just to get a little thicker. Anyway, I remember watching this show about female wrestlers in Japan and they ate this special soup to make them gain weight. It looked like it had meat and other stuff in it but it was eaten just for weight gain so it’s not just some can soup. I need to know the name of the soup and how to make it.
Shabu shabu. It’s what Bill Murray and Scarlett Johanson eat in the movie "Lost in Translation".
Shabu Shabu Recipe #119254
Traditional Japanese dish I just got the recipe for, apparently it’s quick, like asian fast food but better than McDonald’s!

Is it an actual peppper, or is it a condiment?
♡It’s a condiment as already stated and it does vary from maker to maker. You’ve already got some good answers so I’ll just add my 2 cents… I live in Japan and I love Shichimi Togarashi (Japanese Seven-spice chili pepper). Shichi is seven in Japanese, Togarashi is the Japanese word for red chili peppers, hence Shichimi Togarashi (Seven-spice chili pepper) The type I use, S&B Japanese seven-spice mixture (Nanami Togarashi) is a blend of red peppers, sansho pepper, roasted orange peel, black and white sesame seeds, seaweed, and ginger. It has a wonderful taste and brings out the flavors of Japanese food. It’s fantastic on noodles- udon, soba, beef tataki, stir fries, nabe(refers to a variety of communal one-pot meals) dishes and yakitori, even jasmine rice. I use it on meats and vegetables as well. I use it in everyday cooking to spice things up. (*^o^*) DELICIOUS!♡
How does a piece of dried seaweed (nori) that’s put into the cooking water improve the texture of the japanese rice?
I don’t know if it improves texture, but it may improve the flavour. Monosodium glutimate was originally made from seaweed – the white ‘bloom’ that coats sheets of seaweed is essentially msg and improves flavour.
it’s not felt that in quantities like this it is harmful
As in what my hobbies are, what I like to do. It’s part of a Japanese assignment but I’m not sure which words to use, exactly.
Also, no kanji. Romaji or Hiragana, since I’ll need to write it in Hiragana. Thanks. ![]()
I write stories and poetry, for the most part.
writing
= かくこと/kakukoto ( means "write", but what do you like to write?)
reading
= どくしょ/dokusho (means "reading books")
cooking
= りょうり/ryori
かくこと/kakukoto is sort of vague.
I think you’d better say a little more specific.
For example;
Writing a diary = にっき を かくこと/nikki wo kakukoto
writing a letter= てがみ を かくこと/ tegami wo kakukoto
