  • Does anyone know of a Japanese restaurant in Toronto?

Posted by admin on July 20th, 2010 and filed under japanese restaurant | 6 Comments »

I am looking for a Japanese restaurant in Toronto, Canada, where you sit in the traditional screened rooms and you have to remove your shoes and sit on the floor to eat your meal.

I have found a lot of private screened rooms, but you don’t sit on the floor. Your feet go under the table that is recessed into the ground.

you could look into HIRO Sushi. I’m not sure if they have the whole works, but they are definitely the best in town for some upscale eating. HIRO used to be on Church, now has upgraded to King Street.

He is the owner/chef. Always was a large feed and wonderful time.

Ah-Soo on Jarvis, it is one of the first japanese restaurants in Toronto, they have a number of traditional "Tatami" rooms.
