You can do simple black with a red line going down it.
The text being typed white and plan and simple or fancy up to you.
Logo?
Id make a what squre and use simple font text kinda like you see in a ransom typed note on tv, older shows?
Each food item can be in a white text box, easy to put a lable on over a food or price.

i would put some sakura or cherry blossom trees in the back as a dark shade and the actual blossoms a cool color

"horse deer" in Kanji 馬鹿
In Hiragana it’s ばか but the Kanji looks more elegant.
